The HoReCa Market Potential in Kazakhstan

Despite the world economic crisis that affects the CIS economies, the public catering service market in Kazakhstan is rather stable. This situation results from a simultaneous and dynamic development of the restaurant market segments. Specialists make a stress on the growth of the restaurant market at hotels, as well as youth fastfood concepts. A special niche is occupied by family restaurants, cafes and bars. Likewise, the culture of social and office food is being revived. It is the focus on multiple segments in the service market development that paves the way to success.

According to the data from the Kazakhstan Agency for Statistics, a total of 3,139 restaurants and hotels are registered in the country. However, according to expert evaluations, the 40% boom in 2007 is followed by some recession in the hotel and restaurant business. There is still a huge potential for development of the economy class hotels (bed & breakfast) because the room rates are rather high today.
